my internet explore work

everytime time internet explorer opens it goes to not responding and i can't do anything, i had to get a buddy to send me fire fox cause i couldn't even get on the net, is there anyway to fix it or reinstall it?

I had the exact same problem...turns out my Java plugin was corrupt...try going into internet options, programs, add-on manager, and disable add-ons one at a time until you find the culprit. Good luck!
